This one goes out to all the Mad Max fans out there. What you see here is a 1960 Cadillac Fleetwood limousine 4x4, dubbed the “Immortal Whore”. I recently came across this incredibly unique (and badass) build owned by Candace, a resident of Salt Lake City, Utah.
“It’s fun to watch people’s reaction when they find out a girl owns this car! I grew up in a small town on a farm with 3 brothers building demolition derby cars, and fell in love with everything vintage,” she explains.
The project began with a ratty 1960 Cadillac Series 75 and a 1990 Dodge W350 pickup. The Cadillac body was then mated to the chassis of the pickup truck by famous Las Vegas custom car shop, Welder-Up. This was only the first step towards completing the beastly 4x4.
The “Immortal Whore” is powered by a 5.9L Cummins 6BT and a brand new NV4500 5 speed transmission with a stage 3 clutch, to handle the high torque capacity. The diesel motor has received a few upgrades, including a cold air intake, an Industrial Injection turbo and injection pump, a custom charge air cooler, and a fuel pump by FASS. The Cummins 12-valve now makes about 500 horsepower. When asked why she decided to go with that specific motor, she replied, “I love the intense torque and horsepower of a diesel.”
As far as suspension goes, 6-inch front springs by Skyjacker with 2.5-inch remote reservoir shocks were used for the application, along with a custom 3 link rear suspension. She then mounted the Fuel Maverick wheels to the Nitto Trail Grapplers.
“The most difficult part of the build process was flattening the floor for the hardwood to go in,” Candace says. The car had to be completely gutted and rewired in order to fit the refinished black leather seats, donated from a 1962 Coupe de Ville. The interior has been entirely customized as well with a new steering wheel, shifter, and tread plates.
Candace intends on driving the built-up Cadillac to different events across the United States. She says, “The car was really built to be driven, and not necessarily entered into shows. It’s all about the road trips and having fun and talking to people along the way. She grabs a lot of attention!”
And she most definitely does.
